Update that CV & Business Portrait!

These days it’s possible to make new contacts in many ways via social networking sites, etc. The only problem being that one’s contact list can grow pretty quickly and your name can easily get lost among the many. How do you stand out among so many other contacts or job applicants? One of the best ways to leave an impression is with a solid professional portrait or “businesss head shot” on your updated CV and professional networking site (like LinkedIn, Xing, etc.).

Putting a face to a name is a key ingredient of the networking game. It’s a required part of the standard Curriculum Vitae (resume) in Europe, and shouldn’t be under estimated in it’s ability to convey a message to potential employers or important contacts before you have the chance to dazzle them with your personality.

I’ve been shooting a number of business portraits in recent weeks, and thought I’d share a few here to demonstrate a couple possibilities for images which I think are a great asset to job seekers and business networkers. My goal with each business portrait is to create a look of confidence, friendliness, and approachability. Although, these photos look “all business,” we had a laugh during each of these sessions.
