Engagement Shoot Stop-Over in Washington D.C.

On my trip to the USA and Canada last month I took the opportunity to visit a couple who’s wedding I’ll be shooting later this month. Asa and Daniel have been living and working in Washington D.C. for the past two years. Because their wedding will be happening in Switzerland; a week after they arrive from the US,  it would’ve been difficult to schedule an engagement shoot prior to their wedding in Engadin. Because I was flying through the east coast on my way back to Zürich, I rerouted through D.C. and rendezvoused with them for some pictures at the Jefferson memorial and the Capital Building. Washington is a unique part of this couple’s story, so I figured we should document it if possible. I was glad that they agreed and made the time for our shoot. Plus, I’d never previously been to the US capital, so it was great having the chance to explore a new place.

I managed to get a lecture from a very serious security guard at the Jefferson memorial, but luckily I didn’t end up getting shipped to Guantanamo Bay.

This shot in front of the capitol building is my favorite. What’s yours? Leave me a comment…   :-)
